Key highlights from the QA Symposium: Accelerate 2016

On the 16th September QA Consulting held The Annual QA Symposium in Barcelona. At QA Consulting our people really are our assets. This weekend in Barcelona was the perfect opportunity for us to thank all of our Consultants for their hard work and dedication over the past year.

This year was slightly different to previous years, involving many of our tech leads to run technology specific breakout sessions, allowing our consultants to get more out of the weekend than ever before, and allowing our tech leads to get involved in creating some great content to deliver.

Here is a rundown on the event:

The event kicked off with our Managing Director Tony Lysak giving everybody an overview of where we were this time last year and how we are looking at accelerating the company in the year to come. It was brilliant to hear his vision of how, with the help of our consultants, we can become a 1000 consultant company rivalling the likes of Accenture and Deloitte. We were introduced to QA Group directors for the first time, Bill Walker, Group CTO and Stuart Martin, Group Sales Director, joined Tony on stage and shared how excited they are to be working with QA Consulting on every level.

After a short coffee break the breakout sessions kicked off.  They were presented by our technical leads: David Wilcox, Angelica Charry, Anna Buchanan, Chris Pugh and Nathan McLean.  Each session focussed on different areas of technologies that our consultants are deployed in; DevOps, Application Development & Pega.

Each session had some hands on sessions including panels and hackathons for our audiences to get stuck into! We will be providing you with individual updates on each breakout sessions over the course of the new few weeks.

As with all company getaways it’s not all work and no fun, the Saturday evening kicked off with The QA Consulting Boat Party. It’s always a great feeling seeing our Consultants getting together over a few beers and letting their hair down, check out some of the photos of the weekend here
