QA Consulting smash target and raise £2,100 for Macmillan Cancer with Tough Mudder

We are delighted to announce that our fearless 13 have raised £2,100 for Macmillan Cancer this weekend by taking on the Tough Mudder London South event and smashing their target by 75%.

The Mud Flaps team came from far and wide with runners from Manchester, Nottingham, London and Brighton. The team morale was strong from the get go and immediately the team started to bond sensing the full gravity of what we’d actually let ourselves in for.

The atmosphere throughout the day was electric, really helping to build team moral and, with nearly 12 miles to get through plus the added challenge of 22 obstacles, team spirit was a must!

The course was a brutal, punishing mix of deep water, cross country running and lots of mud crawling underneath barbed wire, scrambling over mounds and clinging for life in the blockness monster - life on Saturday was not an easy fete!

The Mud Flaps gave it all they had, and I have to say with every step we bonded as a team. The sense of teamwork, helping your fellow Mud Flap when they were in a bind or simply just stuck in mud, and the pure determination from each and every one of the team was really something to be seen.

We eventually made it round the grueling course in just over three and a half hours, and after some fairly serious electric shocks on the final challenge, team Mud Flaps embraced in a power circle and gave one final almighty cheer.

"Leading the Mud Flaps through Tough Mudder has to be one of my greatest achievements" said Team Captain, James Thomson.

"I have never experienced a team with quite so much drive to succeed, no obstacle was tough enough and no hill was high enough to stop the Mud Flaps. We destroyed Tough Mudder London South and we can't wait to do the same next year!"

Exhausted participant Sam Elleray also had a great day: "I had a lot of fun and got to meet loads of new people, and it was all for a good cause!"

Well done to team Mud Flaps. It was an incredible achievement to make it round the course - the cuts, bruises, and the general bodily pain that ensued after was all worth it. The team raised a staggering £2,100 for Macmillan Cancer, but it's not toolate to donate to the Mud Flaps Just Giving page, which you can find it here.

We would also like to congratulate all individuals in QA who participated in any of the Tough Mudder events over the past few months, in total just over £38,200 has been raised, a huge achievement from all who took part.
