The past year in gaming was brilliant, can 2018 top it? Lets take a look at what it's got in store...

PS4, XBO / TBC 2018
It's been twelve years since we last ventured into the world of Disney in the second Kingdom Hearts on PS2. After being teased consecutively for the last three years at E3, fans of the series cannot wait any longer. This is definitely one of the most anticipated games of the year.
Returning protagonist Sora is joined by Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku in their search for the seven Guardians of Light and the "Key to Return Hearts". Hercules, Woody and Buzz Lightyear are to join Sora's party as well.
Square Enix is committed to take the series to a whole new level. New worlds to explore include (or may include... ;) Toy Story, Marvel Universe, Big Hero 6, Tangled, Star Wars and Monsters Inc!

Shadow of the Colossus hit the PS2 in 2006 and quickly went to Sony's list of Greatest Hits titles. 2018 will give us a remake of this multiple award winner masterpiece.
The game retains the same gameplay style of the original, but is now way more fluid, and is fully up to date with modern gamers’ expectations. The environment looks stunning, getting around it feels smooth and natural. The camera keeps up with rapid movement well, which is crucial in those Colossus battles.

The new world is thrilling, dangerous, and ruined - in one word: Post-appocalyptic. This is a very different type of Metal Gear game that will present new challenges to fans.

This soft reboot to the God of War series catches up with where we were left off eight years ago, after God of War III. Series protagonist Kratos will return as the main character with his son named Atreus (which will be playable in some instances of the game). This time Kratos will be heading north to venture the world of Norse Mythology.

The Last of Us Part 2
PS4 / TBC 2018
"In the first game, the theme was the love between these two characters... This story's the counter of that, it's about hate" Neil Druckmann
Awarded the Most Anticipated Game of 2018 at The Game Awards!
Given the hype the first instalment caused, anticipation levels for a sequel are very high. That's probably why Naughty Dog (Crash Bandicoot, Uncharted) seem quite reluctant to disclose info about this upcoming action-adventure survival horror game.
Set five years after Joel and Ellie first cross a post-apocalyptic United States in The Last of Us (ironically also released five years ago), it is now time for "sidekick" Ellie to take the lead role in The Last of Us Part II.
Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia
PC / TBC 2018
"Kings will rise. One will rule."
Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia is set in 878AD, in the aftermath of the Viking Invasions. With the Norse lords firmly installed and established it is up to our predecessors to change the path of history and write a new one of their own.
"Our aim with Total War Sagas is to explore key flashpoints at distinct places and times in history," says series director Mike Simpson of the Saga series' purview. "Unlike our era-spanning titles, we’re putting defined geographical areas under the microscope, building super-detailed campaign maps with a strong cultural focus and flavour that players can dive into. This will complement our broader-scope titles perfectly."
Expect the most detailed version of the British Isles ever to feature in a video game. Total War saga creators are going to present us with an unprecedented huge map.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
PS4 / TBC 2018
Finally! It's hard to believe that it has been over 20 years since Square Enix pushed the boundaries of RPG misconceptions and blew our minds with the first RPG to fully break into the mainstream. This landmark that arguably opened the doors for many successors is now getting a remake.
Square Enix has revealed that this new version of FF7 "will be told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience." Meaning that we should not expect just one FF7 release but multiple ones in the same fashion they did with FF13. Yoshinori Kitase commented, “It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In 13, each instalment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense,”.
Final Fantasy 7 remake gameplay introduces action combat as opposed to classic turn-based battle system. A feature we've been accustomed with in the most recent FF entries.
